Song Thrush

This song thrush has become a resident in the last couple of weeks, singing beautifully from a tree top. It looks like a young one settling into its patch. I always think these birds sound so cheerful when singing and heart warming. Had to shoot this hand held with the 300 lens (the bird's elusive) so its not as sharp as I would like. For this shot he was singing from the spot in the Puriri trees usually occupied by the Tui.

Time to shoot a few snaps but still - Rather short of time at present with study and work but having a look at everyone's splendid images when I can.
