St Peter and Paul, Puhoi - Interior

The rich and colorful interior of the Catholic Church of St Peter and Paul at Puhoi New Zealand. The building dates back to 1883 and the arrival of a community of Bohemian immigrants from Moravia in the Czech lands one time part of Austro-Hungary. The interior is lush and warm and has an interesting construction using local timbers. The stained glass windows throughout the building show the names of the community members who have gone before and their names reflect their origins. The building receives many international visitors, is well maintained and obviously still used today for its original purpose as a house of Christian worship for the local community. I enjoy visiting here as I now live locally and find this interior calming and soothing, it induces spiritual contemplation and creates a feeling of wanting to sit and be peaceful.

Time to shoot a few snaps but still - Rather short of time at present with study and work but having a look at everyone's splendid images when I can.
